After having a practice on Wednesday night after the Birmingham meeting, Aaron felt okay in the morning. So on Thursday against Redcar the decision was made to return to the team. He started a little bit cautiously but then got into it scoring 5 from his four rides. So a good comeback meeting for him. Now a bit of rest time until next Wednesday when Birmingham are against Workington at home.

Aaron had a practice on Sunday 18th July after the Glasgow meeting. All reports it went well apart from being a little sore. He was hoping to be back in Action this coming weekend. Aaron visited the specialist on Wednesday and they have advised him not to race for another 2 & half weeks. So still abit of a delay to get back but hopefully soon.
Aaron would like to thank all the people who have sent him or passed onto him their get well wishes since the accident.

Well has been a little while since any reports have been put up sorry about that. Well it's been a couple of weeks of up's, down's, up's and finnishing with a big downer.
First off Aaron rode in the Teeside pairs meeting at Redcar on Thursday 10th June paired with Jade Mudgway. We both rode well and came away with the win so that was a good start to a couple of weeks. Then on Friday 11th June he had a Premier League match against Somerset at Somerset winning 48 - 42. This was a good result after losing Jason Lyons in the first heat, Aaron said he didn't see what happened as he was in front of Jason but by all reports it was a nasty crash. aaron managed a good result of scoring 9 points.
The next week starting on Wednesday16th June at home in a Premier League meeting against Stoke the team won 58 - 34. Both Johnno and Aaron were unbeaten by an opposing rider both scoring 14 paid 15 so a paid max for both so a great night for Aaron. Then on Sunday 20th it was the Premier Trophy SF1 against Rye House at Rye House losing 41 - 54 so not such a good meeting and Aaron scoring 5 paid 6. So not such a great meeting for him.
So to this past week we started with Premier Trophy SF2 at home against Rye House on Wednesday 23rd July. They had to turn around a 13 point deficiet form the first Semi Final to progress through. The boys all rode really well and Aaron had another great night not being beaten by an opposing rider again. The team turn around the 13 point deficiet winning 59 - 28 so progressing through to the final against Newcastle with dates to be set. Aaron scored 9 paid 12 so another paid max as heat 15 was cancelled due to the time curfew at the track.
Then to the big downer on Friday 25th June the Premier League Knock Out Cup Quarter Final against Somerset at Somerset. The team pulled of a g reat win 48 - 42. Then the crash in Aarons last ride of the night, suffering a broken collarbone and smashing his brand new helmet which I think he was more upset with than realising he had broken his collarbone. He seems pretty upbeat about it and looking to probably have laser treatment etc to improve the haeling progress time and get back out riding.
Once we know more we will get it on the website.
Thankyou for all the get well messages Aaron is recieving. Aaron is very greatful.

Hi,
Well a couple of meetings that I didn't do so well in, was not gating as well as I have been and with the tracks being a bit slick made it hard for passing. The first meeting on Wed 2nd July was a Premier League match at home against Somerset winning 51 - 39. I scored 4 paid 5 starting of with an EF in the first race whilst on a 5 - 1, snapping a brand new primary chain on the 3rd bend of the last lap. So not a happy start to the night.
Then on Thursday 3rd July a Premier League meeting at Sheffield which we lost 44 - 46 so a close match. I did a little better than the night before scoring 7. A day break then on Sat 5th a Premier League match at Stoke losing 42 - 48 and only managing to score 4 points. So hopefully better next week.
I got a call from Coventry at about 10 - 00pm on Sunday night asking to ride for them on Monday 7th June against Bell Vue as Josh Auty was no longer available. As always was not going to knock back the to ride Elite League. Then when on the way to Bell Vue got a phone call to say it was rained off, so a little bit disappointed, but not a lot I can do about the weather.
So for the rest of the week I have a pairs meeting at Redcar on Thursday 10th June, paired with Jade Mudgway. So will be interesting to see how that goes. Then on Friday 11th June a Premier League match against Somerset at Somerset. So hoping for a better week.

Well what a busy week I have had starting with a Premier Trophy meeting at home against Redcar on Wed 26th May. The meeting was abandoned after 12 heats due to major fence damage from a crash involving Justin Sedgen. We won 44 - 37, I had a good meeting scoring 8 paid 11. Up early next morning cleaning and preparing bikes for that night Thursday 27th May I was riding for Coventry in an Elite League match against Ipswich. It was a close meeting with Coventry winning 47 - 45. I had a reasonable night scoring 5 points. Up early again the next morning cleaning and preparing bikes for that night Friday 28th May I was riding for Coventry in an Elite League match against Eastbourne. It was a good meeting with Coventry winning 53 - 40. I had a great night making lightning starts and riding really well scoring 9 paid 12 points. So that was fantastic just need to keep it going I feel riding at that level is improving my riding. Then at least I had a days break before riding for Birmingham in the last Premier Trophy Qualifying round against Sheffield at home with us winning 59 - 36. This meant we were the first team ever to go through the Qualify rounds never to drop a point so this was good for the team and our supporters. I had a good night again scoring 10 points.
So onto this week then on Wed 2nd June a Premier League match against Somerset at home. Then on Thursday 3rd June another Premier League match against Sheffield at Sheffield, then on Sat 5th June another Premier League match against Stoke at Stoke. So another fairly busy week. Hopefully for all my supporters back in Australia I will be able to let them know soon what I will be doing for their summer.

Hi all,
Well what a busy time I have had since last writing. I guessed for Redcar against Newcastle on Sunday 16th May at Newcastle top scoring 11 paid 12. Then on Wednesday 19th we had a Premier League match against Scunthorpe at home winning 52 - 40 having a good night scoring 12 points. The we had the return leg at Scunthorpe on Friday 21st losing this one 39 - 55 scoring 10 points paid 11 being the highest scorer. Then on Sunday 23rd a Premier League match against Newport at Newport again having a good afternoon scoring 10 paid 12 and Birmingham winning 52 - 39. So I was pretty pleased with my consistence during the week hope I can keep it up.
So onto this week, well looks like another busy week starting with a Premier Trophy match at home against Redcar on Wednesday 26th. This meeting doesn't really effect our progress in the Premier Trophy progress as we are already through to the next round. Having said that we will still be going out there to win. At this stage I am then riding for Coventry on Thursday 27th against Ipswich and again on Friday 28th against Eastbourne. So again this is great having the opportunity riding in the Elite League. The on Sunday 30th back to Premier Trophy meeting at home against Sheffield. So you can see a busy time ahead again.
I would like to welcome on board Loctite and thank them for their support so please support those who support me. I would like to thank all the supporters.
Speak to you all again soon.

Hi,
Sorry it's been so long to put something on the site, it has not been me it has been the team back in Australia being a bit slack. Too many early mornings for dad, anyway here it goes.
On Wednesday 28th April we had a Premier League match against Glasgow at home winning 54 - 40. I didn't have such a good night with some minor bike issues only scoring 2 from three rides. My lowest score at home this season. So not very happy with that, need to improve.
Sunday 2nd May at home against Berwick in a Premier League match the team won again 60 - 32. A lot better meeting for me than Wednesday night scoring 9 points, so a lot happier performance. I was called into the Coventry Vs Wolverhampton Elite League match at Wolverhampton for Przemyslaw Pawlicki on Monday 3rd May. Riding in the tough No.2 position but relishing the opportunities I am getting to ride at the Elite League level. I only scored 2 points dropping a chain in my last ride whilts in a point scoring position. I will say it was interesting riding with a very wet track and in one of my races the rain really started to come down hard. I think if it was not a televised meeting on Sky it probably would of been called off, but all the same good experience gained.
Then Wednesday 5th May our first round of the knockout cup against Sheffield at home, with another win 63-25 so that gave us a great lead going into the return leg. I had another good night, I was making starts scoring 10 points so hope we can keep continuing this. I was asked to guest for Redcar against Workington at Workington on Saturday 8th of May. The track was very slick if you didn't make the starts it was really hard to pass. I did manage to score 9 points & when it came down to me taking a tactical ride I managed to get a good start and win the race.
On Wednesday 12th May we had a Premier League meeting at home against my parent club Edinburgh. It was an eventfull match right from the start and it was the first time we have lost at home this season 41 - 48. I had a good night against my old team mates top scoring for Birmingham, scoring 11 paid 12 which I was very happy with against my old side. As I said earlier it was an eventful night right from the start with Ryan Fisher taking my leg out in the first heat & him being exclude, so of course that got the crowd going. Then we lost Jake Anderson in heat 2 for the night in a crash which has sidelined him for a few weeks. Then in heat 3 we lost Chris Kerr after a crash which looks like he might be out for the season with a broken leg, which I believe is being plated and screwed so all the best Chris with the recovery. So this made it hard as at times we could only field one rider in a heat. So I believe if these incidents hadn't happened we would of maintained our home record and won. So we have to take the good with the bad and Edinburgh capatalised on Birminghams misfortune.
The second leg of the knockout cup against Sheffield at their track was on Thursday 13th May. We bounced back well from the disapointment of last night having rider replacement for Chris Kerr and young Tom coming in for Jake Anderson. Winning 54 - 36 so making certain of our progress to the next round of the Knockout cup. I had a reasonable night on a very slick track scoring 7 paid 8. So a good night & good to see Johnno back to form to show the people who have been bagging him recently he hasn't lost it.
So after the long haul back home arriving in the wee hours of Friday morning. When I woke up to find a message from Rossco of Coventry they need me to ride that night. I basically had some breakfast grabbed my Coventry suit and travel back down & cleaned and prepared the bikes from the night before. This was done with some greatly appreciated help of one of Bomber Harris mechanics, thanks again. So Coventry were against Ipswich at home winning 50 - 44, I rode at number 4 replacing Przemyslaw Pawlicki, who's Polish team wouldn't release him for this meeting saying he had to practice with the team for a meeting on the Sunday. I scored 2 paid 3 from my outings and was reasonably happy with this of course I would be liking to score a lot more. The thing is I am learning so much more when I get these chances to ride for Coventry in the Elite League.
Looks like I am riding for Redcar at Newcastle on Sunday 16th May. Then on Wednesday 19th May at home against Scunthorpe, then away to Scunthorpe on Friday 21st.
I will have some gear on my web in the shop section very soon so people will be able to order. So keep looking in there it wont be long and get into the Team Aaron Summers Racing apparel and other things.
Speak to you all again soon Cheers Aaron.

Hi All,
I know it's a bit late putting a report on the site. I was waiting to see if I got any guest bookings over the weekend. Which didn't happen.
Well last Wednesday 21st April we had our first home Premier League meeting against Newcastle. Again the team had a good meeting winning 60 - 32. I had another very good meeting, making starts and riding well to score 10 + 1. After the meeting I was waiting to hear from Alun Rossiter at Coventry as to wether I would be required for Thursday as I would of stayed down that way rather than drive all the way home. As it turned out Filip Sitera was going to make it so I was not required.
So since then I have been doing bikes, a bit of pit bike riding for training and relaxing.
This week Wednesday 28th April we have a Premier League match against Glasgow at home. Then on Sunday 2nd May another Premier League match at home against Berwick. So hoping I can keep scoring well at both meetings and the team keep the winning going.
I am still looking for sponsors so anyone interested in getting involved in anyway please contact me to discuss.
Bye for now

Well what a week I've had. It started on Wednesday we had a Premier Trophy meeting against Stoke at home. I had a great meeting notching up my first 15 point maximum at home for Birmingham. So that was great, i was making really good starts which is what I know I need to do, it does make things easier. We won 65 - 29.
Then on Thursday we had a Premier Trophy meeting against Sheffield at Sheffield. Not such a great meeting for me only scoring 2+1. I was leading in one race and knocked the spark plug lead right out of the cap, so that was a DNF otherwise I would have had 5+1. So a bit dissappointed with that result. The team still managed to win 52 - 41.
I then got a phone call from Coventry regarding riding for them on Friday night against Bell Vue. This was due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, causing all flights into the UK to be cancelled. So I was in to replace Fillip Sitera as he was unable to get there. This meant I had to dash home to get more gear and get back down to Coventry to do my bikes and get ready. So a bit hectic but I'm not going to knock back riding at Elite League level, when the chances arrive for me.
I had a good night at Coventry scoring 5 points, which included a heat win over Neils- Kristian Iversen. So that was a good result for me making good starts again, and showing I can match it with these guys. The team lost the meeting 42 - 48, so the boys are still looking for their first win of the season. I'm sure it's not too far away.
So we stayed down again that way as we had Stoke at Stoke in a Premier Trophy meeting Saturday night. So again up early doing bikes etc. I had another very good meeting scoring 10+1 only being beaten once, by an opposing rider otherwise I would have scored a paid maximum. Again I was making good starts which I need to keep doing. I would like to thank all the people who gave me assistance with my bikes, cleaning and worksho use etc.
Next week at this stage is a quiet week getting bikes ready, training and at this stage only riding on Wednesday 21st against Newcastle. But who knows what else riding wise might crop up.
That's all for now

Hi all,
Another update on how things have been going and what I have coming up.
On Thursday 8th April we had a Premier Trophy meeting against Redcar at Redcar and I scored 3 + 2. I had a bit of bad luck in my third ride whilst leading I threw a chain which caused an DNF. So this was very disappointing for me. We did manage to win the meeting 53-37.
Then on Friday 9th April we had a Premier Trophy meeting against Scunthorpe at Scunthorpe and I scored 5 from only 3 rides. So it was okay but I know I need to be scoring more points and I can. We manage to win this meeting as well 49 - 41 so we have had a good start to the season and can only hope it continues.
What coming up this week. On Wednesday 14th April a Premier Trophy meeting against Stoke at home. Thursday 15th April a Premier Trophy meeting against Sheffield at Sheffield. On Saturday 17th a Premier Trophy meeting against Stoke at Stoke. So hoping I can score some good points at these meetings and the team can win all three meetings.
Still looking for people to come on board with Aaron Summers racing with sponsorship so if your interested please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi all,
I have finally made some time to reflect on the few weeks. I can tell you I am already sick of the amount of rain offs already, but there is nothing I can do about that.
We started off on Wednesday 17th March against Stoke in the first leg of the M6 Trophy at home. Which we managed to win. I had a reasonable night managing to score 6 points, which was okay but I believe I should be scoring more.
Saturday 20th March was suppose to be the second leg of the M6 Trophy against Stoke but got rained off. It was re-staged on Sunday 21st March at Stoke I had a shocker of a meeting only scoring 1 point and I was not happy about that. For some reason I kept having problems with my new rear chains overstretching or something because they kept coming ultra loose and jumping teeth on the sprocket. Making hard to ride the bike, we thought there must be something coming loose on the bike like the clutch housing or something but could not find anything. Birmingham still managed to win this without me really contributing. So it was good to be with a new team and help them win their first Silverware for the season and hopefully a few more to come.
Wednesday 24th March the Premier Trophy match against Sheffield was Rained off.
I was asked to guest for my old team the Edinburgh Monarch on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March in their two Spring Trophy matches as Kevin Wolbert was unavailable. The first leg I scored 7 + 3 so this was good and Edinburgh won 51-45. The second leg I scored 4+1 so this was okay & Glasgow won 48-45. So over the two legs Edinburgh managed to win the Spring Trophy on aggregate. This was good helping out my old team to also get their first bit of silverware for the season.
Wednesday 31st March the Premier Trophy match against Redcar was Rained off.
Friday 2nd April whilst heading down to Birmingham for the Premier Trophy meeting against Scunthorpe, I got a call to say it was rained off. So I turned around and headed back home, whilst heading home I got a call from Alun Rossiter at Coventry. He asked as the Birmingham meeting was now off could I come down to Coventry for their meeting against Peterborough as Christian Hefenbrock had a crash in the mornings meeting at Peterborough and was out. So I turned around again and went off to Coventry. As their No.8 they could of just had me there on standby in case something happened to someone else as they are allowed to use rider replacement. They gave me a run which was good even though it was in the tough first heat of the night. So it was good to get another run in the Elite league. I didn't score in my only outing but it was very good experience for me and I have already learnt I need to attack the corners a bit harder and improve my gating. So those will be things I will work on.
Sunday 4th April was the re-run of the rained off Premier Trophy meeting at home against Scunthorpe. I had a good meeting making the starts and was top scorer for Birmingham scoring 11 + 1 and the team winning 54-41. So a good meeting for me and my support crew.
Stayed down near Birmingham as the next day Monday 5th April we had the Premier League meeting at Rye House. Which was being televised on Sky TV and also shown live in Australia so this was good as mum and dad got up very early and watch it live and could see my races. For some reason I never manage to have a great meeting at Rye House and only scored 4+1, but I think that has been my best score there so things are improving. With the team losing 43-47 but as we managed to keep it within 6 points we get a point from the meeting. So this was good.
I would like to welcome back onboard some sponsors Buildbase and Forcefield as sponsors this season so thanks again guys really appreciated also Edgar who is helping me out with some souvenir stuff. I am still searching for sponsors to help me out to reach my goals in the sport. With events being shown on sky sports etc this is always great exposure for people and their company. So if anyone can help in any form you can contact me via the contact on my web site or approach me at the tracks to discuss opportunities to come on board and help out.
My meetings for the rest of the week if not rained off are Thursday 8th April against Redcar and Friday 9th April against Scunthorpe. So will give an update after these meetings. So keep visiting my website as I will be updating more regularly now the season has started.
Cheers SPUD
Aarons first Skid for 2010
by Team Summers
9/3/10
Word in from the UK, Aaron has had his first ride for 2010 at the Coventry. Aaron reported all went well on a slick track and managed to stay upright... "Considering Bomber had a get off, I'm stoked.." Spud reported.
Aaron will now take in Press and Practice day at Birmingham on Wednesday for his Premier League side and then back it up with Press and Practice day at Coventry on Friday with the Elite Team.
Aaron's feeling pretty happy about things for the upcoming season and hopes to put the engine dramas of last season behind him. "Having Phil Crump doing our engines is a big plus going into what will be my busiest season so far, all we need to do is sort out a bit more sponsorship so I can concentrate on training, bike prepapration and riding".
Aaron is looking forward to getting back into it and will be keeping his fans in the UK and back home in Australia updated.
Summers to Gain Elite Experience
by Birmingham Speedway
21/1/10
New Birmingham signing Aaron Summers has been added to Coventry's Elite League squad as their number 8 rider for the new season.
Summers who has moved to Perry Barr from Edinburgh, will be on stand-by for the Bees in the event of rider unavailability at reserve.
And Birmingham boss Graham Drury is happy for the rider to gain valuable experience with occasional appearances in the top flight.
He becomes the second Birmingham rider to link up with the Bees as Richard Sweetman will be riding at reserve in a doubling up role with Sheffields Josh Auty.
Said Drury “It's a good move for Aaron and we don't have a problem with it at all. We don't know how many meetings he will get for them but in the event of injury and unavailability at reserve he may get a run in their team”.
“But as with Richard Sweetman, it must be emphasised Aaron's full time priority in 2010 is Birmingham speedway and I see no reason why he can't increase his average.”
Summers Move Further Boosts Aussie Contingent
by Birmingham Speedway
17/12/09
Birmingham Speedway have snapped up Aaron Summers in a loan deal from Edinburgh Monarchs.
Summers from Adelaide becomes the fifth Australian rider in the Perry Barr side for 2010 and will race alongside skipper Jason Lyons, Steve Johnston, Richard Sweetman, Justin Sedgman and American ace Chris Kerr.
And Summers is thrilled with the switch from Scotland and will start the season on a 6.07 average which he believes he can increase.
He said "I've really enjoyed myself with Edinburgh and I regard this as an exciting new challenge in my career. I want to play a part in bringing success to Birmingham and I know I can do well on the Perry Barr Track"
Summers notched 13 points on his last visit to Perry Barr with Edinburgh in September and he has a glowing reference from the new signing, Johnston who contacted boss Graham Drury when he became aware of his availability.
Said Drury, "Johno was glowing in his praise of Aaron and we're looking forward to having him onboard, Jason Lyons will also be advising him on machinery and setups"

Well I've finally got a team spot sorted for 2010 season with Birmingham Brummies. I am pleased to be offered a spot in the team as it is a track where I wanted to ride. I have always had good meetings there and I really like the track. I had some trouble towards the end of the season but will have that all sorted for the season. I believe I can put more than 1 point on my average. I am looking forwad to the start of the season already. I have my bikes stripped down to be rebuilt and new parts added. I will now be looking for new sponsors and appeciate any help anyone could offer.. I have new covers ready to be stickered up with names..
I would like to thank everyone that has helped me out during my time with Edinburgh and would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for following my site.
